Graduate Record Examination revised (General)

 

Introduction

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General is a test that is an admission requirment in many countries worldwide in graduate schools. The GRE is a standardized test intended to measure the abilities of all graduates in tasks of general academic nature, regardless of their fields of specialization. It is mostly acceptable in United States and many other English speaking countries. It is administered and conducted by Education Testing System (ETS). ETS is worlds largest educational testing and assessment organization which was established in 1947.

The test is offered as a computer-based exam at different selected testing centers. It is also availabale in paper format at those centers where computer facility is not available.

In August 2011 ETS introduced a new test taker friendly design and new question types. So it is called GRE revised General Test. Perspective graduate and business school aplicants from all around the world take the new GRE revised General Test. The test is availabel at nearly 700 test centers located in more than 160 countries.

Duration of Test

The entire testing procedure consists of 3 hours and 45 minutes. 1 minute break after each section and 10 minutes break after third section.
